Examples of services the department offers include:

-     Referral to In Home Supportive Services (IHSS). 
-     Assistance with transportation
-     Assistance with Medicare/Medi-Cal or health insurance
-     Assistance with Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
-     Help managing bills, budget, and/or mail
-     In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) is a statewide publicly funded program  providing personal assistance services to low-income people with chronic and disabling conditions who need such assistance to remain safely in their homes and engaged in their communities
